Cooltan swimwear

A textile owner who originally sought to find a more comfortable golf shirt invented Cooltan fabric. In the middle of summer, a round of golf can be a sweaty experience, with your clothing sticking to you by the end of the day. He imagined a shirt that would keep him cool by allowing perspiration to escape and be loose enough to provide plenty of freedom for his golf swing. The problem was, no such shirt back then existed.

After two years of research, the shirt was perfected. Called Microsol, this lightweight fabric has twice the surface area of cotton, allowing moisture to evaporate faster than regular cotton. Each thread is spaced further apart to allow a maximum amount of moisture to escape while letting the air in to keep you cool. The result is a porous, lightweight material, extremely comfortable and loose fitting, yet stronger than traditional fibers.

Because of the porous material, an excellent side effect is the ability to tan through the shirt. The threads are far enough apart to let tanning rays in, but not so loose as to let all the sunlight through. This results in a material that acts as a medium level sunscreen, allowing you to tan slowly and safely.
